Spanish entrepreneurs strut their stuff at IMAN

Last Wednesday, 25th April, at IMAN 2007, (Palacio Municipal de Congresos de Madrid, near IFEMA) there were two plenary sessions devoted to Spanish entrepreneurs. The first session was called "Comercio Electronico, Esta Vez los Exitos" and the second "Encuentro con Emprendedores".
Descriptions and transcriptions of these will be make available on the IMAN website sometime after the 7th May.


(1) "Comercio Electrónico, Esta Vez los Exitos" The Program ("Miércoles 25", 17:00-18.00)
Some of the leading the leading Internet startups in Spain were invited to give 10 minute presentations, plus questions.

a) Antevenio. A Spanish PYME dealing with Internet publicity, spoke of how they launched themselves on Alternext, which opened for business on 17 May 2005. This new market was created by Euronext to meet the needs of small and midsized companies seeking simplified access to the stock. Their stock price.

b) Panoramio. Mashups of Google Maps/Earth with photos of a community, linked to by Google. They have had 5.3 million unique visitors.

c) Atrapalo. An online tourist agency and promotor of leisure activities.

d) eConozco. A leading Spanish professional social networkthat was bought by Xing last month

e) DVDgo. A leading DVD-selling company on the Internet in Spain since 1999 and is focused only on DVD sales, and whose catalogue is one of the largest available in Spain and one of the most complete in Europe.

(2) "Encuentro con Emprendedores".
Here one representative from each company had to reply to probing questions of the jury on finishing their 10-minute presentation.

Aquamobile. Water marks for images that can be read by mobile phones.(winner of IE Business School´s Proyecto Neti.) They were present at 3GSM.
Shoomo. Social network for purchases and comparacion of prices.
Wikiloc. Walking routes and points of interest geolocalised in Google Maps.
• GolfEngine. Reservation of green fees from the creators of Golfinspain.com.
Just in Mind. Proceses/software for the automatisation in the development of software.
eFinanzia. Technological platform for mortgage brokers.
nVivo. Another way of finding live music.
